PEORIA, Ill. — The Tri-County region did not report any new deaths in the past 24 hours.
Peoria County reported two additional confirmed cases bringing the total to 192. Tazewell reported one new confirmed case, bringing the total to 71. Woodford remains at 19.
Peoria Health Administrator Monica Hendrickson said that 81% of local cases are considered recovered. While 9% are at home isolating, and 3% are hospitalized.
The Greater Peoria Family YMCA will open Monday as the state moves into phase three of Restore Illinois, with some restrictions, according to CEO Andrew Thornton.
“With a robust schedule of outdoor exercise classes through the morning and early evening, and be available for personal training as is allowed in the Restore Illinois plan,” Thornton said.
Staff inside the building will be required to wear masks. They will not be required to wear masks during outdoor fitness sessions as long as they remain 10 feet apart.
Summer day camp can occur, but with limited capacity.
Thornton said those who are not members can sign up on their website.
If you’re wondering which local businesses are reopening with Restore Illinois protocols, there’s a website for that.
RestoreHOI.com allows businesses to self-certify and provides a list of businesses that have agreed to comply with phase three safety regulations.
Ross Black, City of Peoria Community Development Director, said the self-certification process is quick.
“They are able to print a certificate that they can put up at their business. So, that employees and customers know that have agreed to follow appropriate protocols,” Black said.
Bars and restaurants may also request to shut down streets to expand outdoor seating, though Black warns that process takes longer.
