PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police and now the Peoria County Coroner have released more information about a body found outside a Central Peoria home Wednesday morning.
Peoria Police say they were called just after 10 a.m. to West Gift Street, where a body was found behind the home’s garage.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood is now saying the victim is Bradley Cook, 49, and autopsy results were inconclusive – meaning, more testing needs to be done, but foul play still isn’t suspected.
Peoria Police detectives learned that the last time Cook was in contact with anyone was on Christmas Day.
Harwood says Cook’s identity was made through fingerprinting and tattoo comparisons.
The investigation, police say, is ongoing.

Police say the body was obviously deceased. Detectives learned that the last time the male was in contact with anyone was on Christmas Day. They say he is known to be homeless.
Investigators believe the body had no obvious signs of trauma. The Peoria County Coroner is expected to release the manner and cause of death after an autopsy.
An investigation, police say, is ongoing.

PEORIA, Ill. – A body was found dead in the back yard of a Central Peoria home Wednesday.
Some reports suggested the discovery was made around 10:30 a.m. on West Gift Avenue.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood tells 25 News there was no identification on the victim, so he’s working to get the identity of the middle-aged man using fingerprints.
Harwood says there were no signs of trauma or perpetrated injury, but an autopsy is expected.
Harwood believes cold exposure may be to blame for the death.
“There is probably going to be nothing to this case, other than maybe a possible cold exposure,” Harwood told 25 News.
