PEORIA, Ill. – A fire at a two-story home in Peoria’s East Bluff was contained to the chimney.
Peoria Fire says crews responded to the area of Seneca and Maryland just after 10:45 P.M., and found heavy smoke and flames from the chimney upon arrival.
Crews fought flames that were found in the fireplace and on the inside of the chimney.
There was no structural damage to the home, and the house’s six residents were able to return after it was ventilated.
There were no injuries.
A fire investigation ruled it to be accidental, with damage estimated at $5,000.
