PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria woman is under arrest for the city’s 23rd homicide of the year Monday morning.
Peoria Police say TNashia Wash, 18, was arrested for First-Degree Murder and taken to jail after questioning.
Police say the shooting happened around 5:15 a.m. on North Ellis Street, near Elizabeth and Columbia Terrace.
The Peoria County Coroner says police found Roderick Richardson, 30, inside the home with what police called “obvious injuries consistent with gunshot wounds” and was pronounced dead at the scene.
It’s believed there was an altercation inside the home that led to the shooting.
An autopsy on Richardson is expected Tuesday.
