PEKIN, Ill. – More than a month after he was ousted from an interim job, Bruce Marston is completely out at Pekin City Hall.
The Pekin City Council Monday approved a separation agreement with Marston, who’s also been the city’s finance director.
He’ll be paid more than $80,000 in unused vacation and other compensatory time, along with money into a retirement account, as he’s just short of being able to retire under Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund benefits.
Several “no” votes were cast by council members who wanted more time to review the agreement, even though he’ll officially be done at the end of this week.
Council members voted last month to oust Marston as interim City Manager after Human Resources complaints were filed against him. Pekin Police Chief John Dossey is now in that role, also on an interim basis.
