PEORIA, Ill. – Police says a Galesburg man was arrested Thursday night in Peoria after a vehicle crash and foot chase.
PPD Spokesperson Semone Roth says officers attempted a traffic stop just after 10 P.M. at Lincoln and Jefferson Streets. The vehicle fled the scene, eventually hitting a parked car in the area of W. George and SW Jefferson.
The driver fled the scene on foot, and was taken into custody a short time later.
The driver was identified as 21-year-old Deandre Deal. During a search of the vehicle, officers found a firearm near the driver’s seat.
Deal was taken to the Peoria County Jail, charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, no FOID, Resisting Police, Obstructing Justice, and multiple traffic violations.
