CHILLICOTHE, Ill. – Chillicothe’s support for Ukraine in its battle against Russia is now officially on the ground.
The town’s fire department in October sent one of its fire trucks loaded with equipment to Ukraine.
This week, the department announced in a Facebook post that the donated truck has reached its destination.
The post says donating the truck was the easiest poart. “It has taken many people doing paperwork, asking for favors, politicking and risking thier lives to get it there. It has been trucked, flown, boated, and driven to get to where it is today,” the post said.
The post thanked everyone who made the fire truck’s journey possible.
