PEORIA, Ill. – An arrest warrant has been issued for the man who’s accused of causing a three-vehicle crash on the edge of Peoria Sunday morning that caused an Edwards woman to lose her life and caused three others to be injured.
Peoria County State’s Attorney Jodi Hoos says in a statement Jeremy Perry of Hanna City, 43, is being charged with two counts of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence, and one count of Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, with additional charges expected when the Peoria County grand jury meets next month.
Perry allegedly sped off in a car parked at the Shell station on Kickapoo-Edwards road as a woman was being treated for a drug overdose.
The vehicle allegedly almost hit three Peoria County squad cars and a deputy, before crashing into two other vehicles at U-S 150 and Koerner Road, killing Miriam Schmid, 43, and injuring three others.
The arrest warrant issued for Perry has bond of $1 million.
It’s not clear if he’s hospitalized.
