PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria Police officer is resigning after allegedly getting into an altercation with another officer, a female.
That’s according to Peoria Police Chief Eric Echevarria — who issued a statement Sunday saying Sergeant Nate Adams resigned three days prior.
Echevarria says Adams, who was off-duty at the time December 15, got into, “an altercation” with an off-duty female officer at “a local establishment.”
Echevarria says he met with Adams later in the day, and that’s when he resigned.
No other details are being released, and Echevarria says Illinois State Police is investigating the matter. The female officer was not identified.
“On the morning of December 15, 2022, there was an altercation between an off-duty female officer and an off-duty male officer at a local establishment.
“During a meeting with Police Chief Echevarria later that day, Sgt. Nate Adams resigned.
“Illinois State Police is handling the investigation. The City will not comment on any personnel matters.” — Police Chief Eric Echevarria
