PEORIA, Ill. — The owners of Famous Dave’s BBQ in Peoria are preparing to close the restaurant’s doors for good.
Currently, Famous Dave’s, near the Shoppes at Grand Prairie, is only doing carryout orders Wednesday through Sunday, from 3-8 p.m.
Peoria’s Famous Dave’s is owned by Mercedes Restaurants. The decision to close is reportedly tied to food costs and staffing issues.
Right now, the BBQ restaurant is operating with a “bare bones crew,” putting a significant strain on management.
The Famous Dave’s in Bloomington and Alexander’s Steakhouse in Champaign, both owned by Mercedes Restaurants, closed earlier this year.
It appears Famous Dave’s, near the Shoppes at Grand Prairie, will close before the end of the year, possibly sooner.
