PEORIA, Ill. — Stretching back decades Peoria has had a strong connection to kids of St. Jude. This year was no exception.
WMBD sister media outlet 104.9 The Wolf raised over $76,000 for the kids at the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
During the two-day radiothon, the Wolf staff and volunteers wore t-shirts that sent a powerful message to listeners.
104.9 The Wolf personality Dr. Chris Michaels told WMBD’s Greg and Dan, listeners who pledged $20 or more received a “Partners-In-Hope” Country Cares t-shirt.
“Whenever I wear my shirt, because I have three of these from the last three years when they started it, I make sure that if I’m wearing a coat, the coat is open…because I want people to see it, and I want people to ask me about it,” Dr. Chris said.
The radiothon wrapped up at 7 p.m. on Friday evening.
