FARMINGTON, Ill. — Illinois American Water is completing an investment project at the Farmington Water Treatment plant.
The work includes replacing a tank valve. It requires a boil order for the City of Farmington beginning Tuesday, June 7.
Beginning at 7 a.m., on June 7, Farmington customers should bring their water to a rolling boil for five minutes before it for drinking or cooking.
Illinois American Water says during the boil order, the water is okay for bathing, washing and other common uses.

Information is also provided to customer service center representatives. Landlords are required to keep tenants informed.
Customers will be notified when the boil order is lifted, which is expected to be Friday, June 10.
