PEORIA, Ill. — South Side Mission has served Peoria’s 61605 neighborhoods since 1925, but they’ll offer even more help starting next year.
South Side Mission’s Executive Director, Rev. Craig Williams explains.
“We will have a new thrift store at our 2919 W. Garden location that was formerly a ministry, and pretty much just a food pantry,” Williams said.
The store will be located just blocks from South Side Mission’s main campus on Laramie.
“We believe that it’s important for us to have a thrift store to provide low cost housewares, clothing, and many other items to the community that’s sometimes has been left for nothing,” Williams said.
Williams said by shopping and donating at South Side Mission, you support programs that help thousands of people every year.
The Mission’s new store moves the ministry into a building that it already owns, allowing funds to flow into other ministry programs for youth and mentoring.
South Side Mission’s Sterling Avenue Thrift Store will also be consolidated into the W. Garden store location sometime in 2022.
