PEORIA, Ill. — A Peoria County man in his 80s passed away between Tuesday and Wednesday from coronavirus complications.
The Woodford County Health Department during the reporting period added two deaths from January, a woman in her 70s and another in her 80s, the latter of whom lived in long-term care.
Peoria, Woodford, and Tazewell Counties combined for 69 new cases of COVID-19. Peoria residents accounted for 31, while 27 Tazewell residents tested positive, and 11 Woodford residents did.
23 people as of Wednesday afternoon were in area hospitals. Five of them were intensive care-level.
All Region Two metrics were trending in good directions.
A total of 83 virus patients throughout the region as of Wednesday were in hospitals, a number that has been declining steadily over the last two weeks.
ICU bed availability for the region was solid, at 30%.
The rolling seven-day positivity rate remained at 2.7% for the fifth straight day.
