WASHINGTON, Ill. — A Washington woman, who died after she apparently fell into a creek Friday, has been identified by the Tazewell County coroner.
“Pronounced deceased at the scene at 4:10 p.m. Friday, was 57-year-old Washington resident Nanette Seacrist,” said Coroner Charles Hanley.
Seacrist’s body was discovered by a group of boys Friday afternoon near the creek at the end of the Red Bud Drive Cul-De-Sac.
“An autopsy was held Monday morning and preliminary autopsy findings show the cause of death from cold exposure. Toxicology is pending,” Hanley said.
Seacrist slid into a tree as she entered her driveway, then stepped out of her vehicle before falling down a bank into the creek near her home, Hanley said.
Foul play is not suspected.
An investigation is being handled by the Tazewell County Coroner’s Office, Illinois State Police and the Washington Police Department.
