PEORIA, Ill. – It hasn’t been long since the Hotel Pere Marquette in downtown Peoria has been under new ownership, and now a big attempt is being made to drum up business, by bringing back a big event.
The Pere Marquette will host a New Years Eve Party for the first time in several years. COVID-19 took it away; now, new owners are bringing it back.
“It’s all you can eat, all you can drink,” said Amber Green, catering and sales Manager, to WMBD’s Craig Collins. “There are food stations. We’re going to have a balloon drop at midnight, different photo booths…it’s kind of going to be a 1920’s theme, so you can dress up if you want, (and a) champagne toast.”
Green says she hopes people will play along to the 1920’s theme.
“I’ve been to different events, where I’ve seen a lot of people dress up, then some not so much,” said Green. “I’m hoping that people are as passionate about it as I am, and will totally dress up.”
Green says the event will be from 8:00 p.m. December 31, to 1:00 a.m. January 1, and will cost $175 a person. Special discounted hotel room rates are available.
