CHICAGO – The Illinois Attorney General’s Office is filing charges against a Stark County man after he allegedly was caught with child pornography.
Attorney General Kwame Raoul says Matthew Shipp, 19 of Toulon, faces five counts of Dissemination of Child Porn, with each carrying a maximum 30 year prison sentence if convicted.
A search of Shipp’s rural Stark County home allegedly turned up evidence of child porn.
“Survivors of child exploitation and abuse are re-victimized each and every time an image is downloaded or shared online,” Raoul said, in a news release. “I will continue to partner with local law enforcement agencies to investigate these heinous crimes and protect Illinois children and families from those who exploit and abuse children.”
Shipp is jailed in Henry County, and faces a court date Friday.
