SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The murder and attempted murder charges that were tossed out against a Knox County woman after she allegedly hid a dead body in a storage unit have been reinstated.
The Fourth District Appellate Court made that ruling in the case of Marcy Oglesby, 50.
Oglesby was charged with murder last February, several months after the body of former Police Chief Richard Young was found inside a box found in a storage locker in the rural community of Maquon.
Oglesby’s defense claimed the murder charges weren’t filed within 120 days after her arrest, but the appellate court claims that because they weren’t part of the same law, it didn’t apply.
Oglesby will be back in court in January. She’s also charged with forgery and weapons counts, among others.
