PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria firefighters were called to a garage fire near N. Andover Court and Frostwood Parkway just before midnight Tuesday.
Assistant Fire Battalion Chief Larry Carter says when crews arrived, they found the front corner of a garage on fire. Flames were extending to the ceiling and roof.
Neighbors tried to put the flames out before firefighters contained the fire, and had it out before it spread to the rest of the home.
No one was in the house at the time of the fire.
Investigators said fireworks caused the fire. Damage was estimated at $10,000.
