PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria woman was arrested early Friday morning after a Shot Spotter alert.
Peoria Police says officers were dispatched to the area of Madison and Green Streets at around 12:45 A.M. after a report of one shot fired.
Officers observed several people walking away from a vehicle that had 44-year-old Gwendolyn Smith sitting inside it.
Drug and drug paraphernalia were found inside the vehicle by officers, and they also found a loaded handgun on Smith.
Smith was arrested on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, no FOID, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
She was taken to the Peoria County Jail.
