DELAVAN, Ill. – Delavan Police are said to still be looking into an incident that caused the school district there to go into soft lockdown Thursday afternoon.
Delavan Superintendent Amanda Geary says in an e-mail to parents obtained by 25 News that it had been informed of a “potential situation” leading to the lockdown, thanks in part to law enforcement and the district’s school resource officer.
Geary says all school doors were locked, restrooms and hallways cleared, with no one being allowed to enter or exit.
An all-clear was eventually given.
Police released no details of the incident.
