PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police say an 11-year-old boy was who stole a car Tuesday morning and later led police on a chase in part of the East Bluff area.
Police say they were first alerted to a stolen vehicle near Indiana and Nebraska around 8:15 a.m., and were told the suspect was the 11-year-old.
Police later tried to stop the vehicle but it fled.
It was later found unoccupied on West Marquette between Westmoreland and Madison Park Terrace.
Police eventually found the boy and arrested him on what they say were a number of offenses, including Motor Vehicle Theft.
Police say the boy was released to his mother.
