PEORIA, Ill. — A Peoria tradition is back.
The Family Christmas Sing returns after a two-year hiatus at the Peoria Riverfront Museum Tuesday night.
“It started in 1947, right after World War II, in the old Peoria County Courthouse Plaza. So, we’re counting this as the 75th year,” Organizer Lee Wenger says.
Wenger tells WMBD’s “The Greg and Dan Show”, the Family Christmas Sing spent 60 years at the Courthouse, 12 years at the Peoria Civic Center indoors, took two years off thanks to COVID-19…now moving to the Peoria Riverfront Museum lobby.
The doors will open at 6:30 p.m, the singing starts at 7.
“Music starts at 6:30, free admission, free parking in the deck downstairs. And, I think even the street meters are off by that time of night,” Wenger says.
