PEORIA, Ill. — A death investigation is underway after an unresponsive victim was uncovered outside a local bank branch in Peoria County.
According to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office, the discovery was made during the overnight hours between Wednesday and Thursday. A male subject was found lying near an ATM at the Peoria Community Bank location at 3100 W. Harmon Highway.
A preliminary release says AMT paramedics managed to find a pulse and rushed the victim to UnityPoint Health Methodist Hospital.
However, doctors and nurses at the facility were unable to save the person’s life.
The coroner responded following pronouncement of their death.
Peoria County deputies say a caller reported seeing the male with other people and a vehicle just prior to his death.
The county confirms a detective is now assigned to the case and an investigation is ongoing.
