PEKIN, Ill. – The owner of a popular Peoria cocktail lounge — now convicted on charges of leaving the scene of a bad accident he caused.
Martin Walgenbach, who owns Martini’s on Water Street in Peoria, was convicted in Tazewell County Judge Timothy Cusack’s courtroom Thursday following a daylong bench trial.
25 News says the verdict came following a one day bench trial.
Walgenbach hit and injured Elizabeth Ciavarella with his car outside the Par-A-Dice Casino back in January, 2020.
He now stands convicted of a Class 4 felony, which could mean up to three years in prison. Or he could get probation with some time in the county jail.
Walgenbach is free on bond. Sentencing is set for November 17th.
