EAST PEORIA, Ill. – The Tazewell County Coroner is now saying it was a former Florida resident who had been reported missing in April as the body found earlier this week in East Peoria.
Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley says the body is that of Kevin Harlan, 62, of Jacksonville, Florida.
Hanley says family members believe Harlan had been living in North Pekin for a time, but had been reported missing more than a week after he had last been seen alive in early April.
The body was found Monday afternoon around 4:30 in a wooded area near Columbia and Washington Streets in East Peoria, not far from the Levee District.
An East Peoria and Illinois State Police investigation continues, but Hanley says there are no signs of foul play.

EAST PEORIA, Ill. – The Tazewell County Coroner says no foul play is suspected in the death of someone whose body was found late Monday afternoon in East Peoria.
Coroner Charles Hanley says an autopsy was conducted on the body and a positive identification has been made, but the name of the individual is still being withheld pending family notification.
The body was found just before 5:00 P. M. Monday on railroad property near the Levee District, in the area of Columbia and Washington Streets.
East Peoria and Illinois State Police are continuing an investigation into the death.
