PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man is back in jail after police say they found a gun on him after chasing him.
Police say they were trying to get in contact with Chemare Irby, 29 — who was wanted on at least two outstanding warrants — around 10:30 Thursday night on South Western.
Irby allegedly fled when officers approached, but was found later hiding under a porch near Lincoln and Western, and a gun was allegedly with him.
Irby is now charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Possession of a Weapon Without a Valid FOID Card, and Obstructing Police.
Irby — who has a history of arrests in Peoria dating back to 2010 — is in the Peoria County Jail.
