PEORIA, Ill. — Authorities say Peoria Police got called on a Shot-Spotter alert to the Taft Homes on Northeast Washington Street near downtown a little after 3:30 a.m.
The alert reportedly mentioned 7 shots fired.
A 19-year-old named Quinton Maurice Scott, Junior of Northeast Adams Street was rushed to the operating room in a private vehicle, where despite aggressive efforts by doctors and nurses, he was pronounced dead at 4:39 a.m.
Another juvenile gunshot victim was also transported and is reported to be in non-life threatening condition.
In a release issued just before 11 a.m., Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said an autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.
So far, there are no suspects named or arrests made in the case.
This news follows the story of a pair of people shot, suffering non-life threatening wounds after a reported fight not too far away at a location along Harrison Street and Southwest Jefferson Avenue.
