PEKIN, Ill. – A fast food restaurant in Pekin is temporarily closed after a weekend fire.
25 News reports the fire broke out Saturday at a KFC on Court Street, as employees were preparing to open for the day.
It was described as a small grease fire, but Pekin City officials say the owner and the city are working to try and get the restaurant open again by the end of the week.
Some social media posts allege the building was deemed uninhabitable.
Officials say the fire was contained to a fryer.
