PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man convicted of murder will be in prison for the next 50 years.
25 News reports Micha Gordon, 55, was given the sentence Wednesday after being convicted by a jury in January.
Gordon was arrested last August for stabbing Rolando Westbrook, 37. He was found in the street on Northeast Jefferson Street and pronounced dead at the scene.
Gordon could have faced anywhere from 20 years to life in prison.
Court records indicate a motion to reconsider in the case will be heard next week. The conviction came amidst confusion, because reportedly the jury initially filled out the wrong verdict forms.
