LINCOLN, Ill. – If you have $50 million burning a hole in your wallet, you could use it to help keep Lincoln College open right now.
A Facebook campaign has started called “Save Lincoln College”. The campaign is looking to somehow raise that kind of money to keep the institution open — now slated to close after 157 years — past the end of the Spring semester.
The campaign is looking for — in its words — an “angel donor.”
Meanwhile, State Representative Tim Butler of Springfield has introduced a resolution in the Illinois General Assembly that would urge every public and private college and community college in the state to extend their application deadlines, to the benefit of soon-to-be-displaced Lincoln College students, and to honor the credits students earned at Lincoln.
