PEORIA, Ill. — After 36 years, a Peoria Journal Star reporter is leaving the paper.
Veteran writer Nick Vlahos said Friday that he’s not leaving town, and it’s likely that post-retirement life will include the occasional story for the Peoria Journal-Star.
Vlahos hinted that his byline and face could appear in other Peoria-area media in the future, though nothing’s official yet.
Vlahos first arrived in Peoria in 1981 as a Bradley University student.
Other than a three-year detour to Missouri and North Dakota, Peoria’s been Vlahos home ever since.
