PEORIA, Ill. — A Peoria home is a total loss after a fire Monday night.
Crews were called to the area of S. Lydia and SW Adams Street just after 6 p.m., finding fire coming from a first-floor window of the 1 1/2 story house.
The fire spread to a finished upstairs living area, and into the attic.
Six people who lived in the home were outside when firefighters arrived.
Fire officials estimated damage at $85,000. The home was scheduled to be demolished Monday night.
Firefighters were on the scene for about three hours, though it took less than an hour to get it under control.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
