PEORIA, Ill. — Some apartments near Richwoods High School in Peoria went up in flames Friday.
Crews were called just after 4 p.m. to the Old Orchard Trace Apartments on N. Imperial Drive.
Peoria Fire said the fire started in the roof truss area, extending into several apartments.
10 of 48 units suffered either fire or water damage.
An investigator determined the cause of the blaze was unintentional.
Crews were on the scene for over four hours.
Two CityLink buses were called in to serve as warming stations for residents to stay out of the cold.
Damage was estimated at $600,000.
