PEORIA,Ill. — With two big comedy shows (Jo Koy and Leanne Morgan), and the AJR concert at the Peoria Civic Center this weekend (September 10-12), there are some changes you need to be aware of.
General Manager Rik Edgar told WMBD’s “The Greg and Dan Show” on Wednesday, masks are now required for all shows. And, for the AJR show on Sunday, there’s an additional safety protocol.
“So, for that show, everyone has to either provide the vaccination card, or get a negative COVID test within 72 hours of the show,” Edgar said.
The vaccination and negative COVID test requirements are at the request of some artists’ management.
“We think it’s smart on the bands’ behalf to be leaders in this. And, they asked if we have a mask mandate, and we said yeah, so we’re not going to fight you on that,” Edgar said.
The Illinois Department of Public Health has brought back a COVID-19 testing and vaccination site to the Civic Center Parking Lot (on Fulton Street). It’s open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 8-4.
