PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police have arrested an 18-year-old in connection with a July 4 shooting that left one dead and three injured.
Wednesday, July 28, members of the Peoria Police Department Target Offender Unit and members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Eric Jackson for an outstanding Peoria County warrant.
During the arrest, Jackson fled from officers after exiting a vehicle.
Jackson was surrounded and taken into custody on numerous gun and drug related charges.
Jackson was then taken to the Peoria Police Department Friday for interview purposes regarding the July 4 shooting.
He was then arrested for First Degree Murder and three counts of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm in relation to the incident.
21-year-old Michael Anthony Charles Johnson II was pronounced dead July 6 after being injured in the shooting.
