PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police have made another arrest in connection with the Jan. 29 shooting that killed 31-year-old Jevon Gilliam at a gas station at the intersection of SW Adams and S. Easton.
In a joint operation Tuesday with the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force, the Peoria Police Department Target Offender Unit developed information that led to the location of 19-year-old Dearian Y. Patterson, who has been wanted in connection with the homicide.
Just before 3:00 Tuesday afternoon, Patterson was taken into custody during a traffic stop in the 1100 block of W. Main St.
Patterson was in possession of a firearm at the time of arrest.
Patterson was taken to the Peoria Police Department Criminal Investigations Division for interview purposes and was arrested for Aggravated Discharge of a firearm.
He was also arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapons, No FOID and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm Under 21 Years of age.
Peoria Police still request help from the public in locating Jamere Laster wanted in connection to this homicide investigation.
