PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police have arrested 58-year-old Michael Dyer in connection with the death of Jeffrey Blevins, whose body was found inside an RV on January 22 in the 8300 block of N. Knoxville Avenue.
On Friday, January 22, Detectives with Peoria Police Criminal Investigations Division located Dyer in Decatur, Illinois where he was in custody in the Macon County Jail for unrelated offenses. Dyer was interviewed by Peoria Police as a person of interest.
“Over the course of the next several days, investigators gathered information and evidence which led to the arrest of Dyer for First Degree Murder,” said Peoria Public Information Officer Amy Dotson.
On Tuesday, January 26, Dyer was arrested and transported from the Macon County Jail to the Peoria County Jail.
On Wednesday, January 20, at approximately 12:07 p.m., Peoria Police responded to the 8300 block of N. Knoxville regarding a report of a missing person, 49-year-old Jeffrey Blevins.
On Friday, January 22, at approximately at 10:02 a.m., a Detective located human remains later identified by Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood as Blevins’.
