PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria firefighters and emergency crews were called around 4:00 p.m. Monday to a home in the 3500 block of W. Lodi Court on reports of a structure fire.
Crews found heavy smoke coming from the front door of the home upon arrival.
Battalion Chief Clint Kuhlman says fire was discovered in the laundry closet.
The fire was contained to the laundry room area, but there was significant smoke damage throughout the home, Kuhlman said.
Two residents of the home escaped without injury.
A fire investigator says a clogged dryer vent was the cause of the fire.
