PEORIA, Ill. — New educational opportunities will be available for K-8 Peoria Public Schools students and their families at no extra cost thanks to the Peoria Riverfront Museum.
Museum President John Morris made the announcement at Monday night’s Board of Education meeting as a part of the “Every Student Initiative.”
Morris said there will be three different opportunities for students with no limit to how many family members they bring.
Students will be able to go to a film, the galleries and go to the planetarium all for free.
“Should they do all three of those things, we will give them two free tickets to the first international debut of the T-Rex exhibition from New York’s American Museum of Natural History,” said Morris.
Per family of four, Morris says the offer is worth about $150.
The museum is also extending the offer to all PPS teachers and staff.
The offer will begin when the museum is allowed to reopen as Tier 3 mitigations forced the closure of the museum amid the spike in COVID-19 cases across Illinois.
The offer will run through May 1, 2021.
