A village called Kepuh village on Java Island started asking people to dress up as ghosts in order to scare people into social distancing.
Pocong are ghostly figures in Indonesian folklore that are said to be the trapped souls of the dead. At first, this practice of having people dress up had the opposite effect it was intended for… people were trying to spot the pocong which made more come out. WHOOOOPS!!!
Locals say matters have improved since they started deploying the volunteers.
